OCDaniel
Thirteen-year-old Daniel thinks he is going insane as it’s becoming harder to stop repetitive actions, such as flicking light switches and brushing his teeth until his gums bleed. He is also becoming more attracted to girls and finding it harder to deal with his peers and then his life becomes even weirder when Sara, a classmate who also has issues, sends notes asking for his help and he becomes involved in a mystery. This sensitive and caring story is suitable for grade 6-7 literature circles, as a read-aloud, or class novel. It can promote discussions of mental health, consequences of choices, and how perceptions shape understanding.
