Odd Man Out

Ellis, Sarah
This is an engaging story that becomes more complex as it progresses. It provides a good springboard for discussions about mental illness and/or dealing with changes and challenges in a young adolescent's life. Facing a summer with Gran and a house full of girl cousins while his mom and step-dad honeymoon in Hawaii leaves Kip feeling like the odd man out. With the house destined for demolition, the cousins and Gran write and draw on the walls and even cut holes through them!
