This novel is a detailed documentary account of a young girl's life, first in a Warsaw Ghetto during the Holocaust in Poland, and then as a young immigrant in Canada. A young girl remembers the horrors she has survived in a Jewish Ghetto during the Holocaust and struggles to begin a new life in Canada with her family. Fears, memories, and uncertainty haunt her as she adjusts to the culture and language of her adopted home.
