Open Middle

An online collection of math problems, “Open Middle” provides hundreds of deep-thinking questions designed to challenge students from Grade K–12 and broaden their understanding of mathematical concepts. Easy-to-browse menus allowing for selection by topic or grade as well as simple language and basic visuals facilitate navigation. In the classroom, teachers may select the appropriate content and use it for whole-class activities, small-group work, and enrichment—as the questions offered support extended and higher-order thinking. The resource lends itself well for reviewing prior knowledge of a topic, introducing a new concept, or reviewing a topic at the end of the unit.
