Peacemaker, The: Thanadelthur
When Cole is caught drawing rather than listening in class he is given the extra task of giving an oral presentation on an Aboriginal figure in Canada’s history. Nervous of public speaking, his sister tells him the story of the great peacemaker Thanadelthur, and Cole finds the courage to overcome his fears and shares how Thanadelthur overcame great odds to make peace between the Cree and the Dene peoples. The graphic novel could be useful for literature circles or guided reading groups, and with teacher guidance provides opportunities for creative and critical thinking.
