People of Sparks, The

Lena and Doon, children of the underground City of Ember, save their community by finding the path to the surface just as Ember can no longer support life. The 400 bedraggled, hungry Emberites, make their way to the village of Sparks where they are met with scepticism and suspicion. Sparks is a post-catastrophe settlement of 322 people. The settlement collectively worked to ensured food, clean water, and shelter was readily available for all who live there.
