Port of Prince Rupert Learning Gateway, The

The comprehensive Port Learning Gateway is a web-based, cross curricular, teacher resource that focuses on the day-to-day activities at the Prince Rupert Port Authority to develop themes of Work & Home, Trade, Environment, and Transport. Targeted to students in grades K-3, 4-7, 8-10, and 11 & 12, the lesson plans address a variety of learning styles including group interaction, independent learning, active learning, critical thinking, and transfer of learning. There are ready opportunities for project-based and inquiry learning with real world problems, activities, and interactions such as community controversies (e.g. environmental concerns), interviews, job shadowing, field trips, speakers, authentic audiences, etc. The website is very easy to navigate, the interface is clean and intuitive, and visual resources are of good quality.
