Pride and Prejudice: Cultural Barriers to Coming Out
This audio file provides young people with an opportunity to hear people their own age discuss LGBTQ issues related to coming out and being accepted by family. One teen is a transgender Chinese youth, and the other is a South Asian lesbian. They talk about parental reactions and cultural expectations. The audio file is useful to introduce the issues of sexual orientation and identity, and family dynamics.
