Reboot

Tintera, A.
Wren 178 was dead for 178 minutes before she came back to life as a Reboot, and not just any Reboot, but the strongest, fastest, most lacking in humanity, and sophisticated killing machine in HARC’s facility. She trains all the new Reboots and does it well until Callum 22 arrives. He doesn’t fit in as he’s still too human which sparks the last vestiges of Wren’s humanity, and when his life is in danger, Wren risks all to break the two out of the facility and escape HARC’s control. This fast-paced dystopian novel, for grades 9-12, would be useful in a literature circle and raises issues of humanity, compassion, ethics of reanimating humans, rebellion, and government control. Social considerations noted.
