Brady is a fourteen year old boy who lives on a tidal river on the American Eastern Seaboard. He attends school, helps his father who is a crab fisherman and spends most of his spare time with his two best friends. Brady becomes caught in an ethical dilemma when his friends, angry at a rich man who has just moved into the area, sabotage the man's kayak and unintentionally cause the death of his young child.
