River Boy

Bowler, Tim
River boy is a story of coming to terms with one's mortality and uses a river, from source to sea, as a metaphor for one's life; the sea ultimately being something "deep and powerful and infinitely mysterious". The strength of this novel is its ability to deal with the end of one’s life in a way that is not overly dramatic or unnecessarily emotional.
