Run Hide Repeat
As a child, Pauline Dakin’s mother twice tore her and her brother from their home and moved them across the country without giving a reason. When she was 23 she found out the reason for the moves – her father was involved with the Mafia and the family was under protection. While this explanation provided many answers, it also prompted her to question the story she was told and she discovered a more complex, and perhaps deceptive, situation. This engaging and suspenseful Canadian memoir is suitable for grades 10-12 and can be used as a class or independent novel and as a starting point to study psychological disorders.
