Salmon Run, The

Gauthier, C.
This simple story, with eye-catching Indigenous artwork, celebrates the salmon’s journey through life. Written in first person from the perspective of the salmon, the salmon shares the experience of birth, making its way to the ocean, the journey back up the river to spawn, and finally death at the end of its life cycle. This Canadian title, suitable for grades K-3, can be used for units focusing on salmon, life cycles, First Peoples knowledge of water, seasonal change, oral history, and Indigenous artwork. Written in English and translated into the Indigenous language of Dakelh.
