Seven Pablos
This engaging picture book provides a glimpse into the lives of seven boys named Pablo from seven countries: Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, New York, Peru, Brazil, and Guatemala. The Pablos are connected by their lives of struggle, conflict, poverty, fear, and danger, but the story ends with a message of hope for humanity. Suitable as a read-aloud for grades 2-7, the book deals with and offers opportunities for discussion of, serious contemporary issues of including refugees, immigration, poverty, and war, as well as writing, art, and research projects.
