Show Us Who You Are

McNicoll, E.
Cora is autistic and used to being bullied and patronized because of it but when she meets Adrien, who has ADHD, he helps her see that social norms and expectations don’t matter. Cora, who lost her mom, is asked by Adrien’s father to take part in an AI project to create holograms of people facing death to keep the loved one alive. Adrien doesn’t trust his dad and warns Cora off, but she is intrigued until she discovers the company’s dark secrets. This intriguing novel is suitable for literature circles, a whole-class novel, and independent reading and addresses understanding and accepting people with neurodivergent brains, and issues of identity, death, pressure to conform, and ethical aspects of AI.
