This excellent historical novel, set in 12th century Korea, tells the story of a character who has been orphaned and is being raised by a physically challenged, homeless man. To pay back a debt, the orphan apprentices with a prestigious potter. This coming-of-age story sees the main character learn patience, respect and confidence. The novel offers insight into what life was like in that time period.
