Snow Treasure
This story takes place in Norway, during WWII. A group of children, 10 to 12 years of age, must transport 13 tons of gold bullion down the hills to a fjord, where a boat is waiting to transport it to North America. Taking the gold across the sea prevents it from falling into the hands of the Germans, who might use it to buy materials for weapons that could be used against the Norwegians. Getting the gold down the hills, the children face many challenges such as German suspicion of their sledding
