Son of a Trickster

Robinson, E.
Jared, a sixteen year old boy, is struggling to figure out who he is in the face of many obstacles including his own addiction, his parents' divorce, and the dark past of his family. As he begins a relationship with the granddaughter of his next door neighbours, Jared finds himself caught in a world of magic and struggle that helps him come to a deeper understanding of his people, his family, and himself. This coming of age story for grades 10-12 could be a class or lit circle selection and focuses on personal, social, and cultural identity. The controversial nature of much of the content in the novel would need teacher guidance.
