Song of Batoche
Josette Lavoie, a strong Metis woman living during the time of the 1885 North-West Rebellion, must undertake literal, spiritual, and mental journeys to ensure that her family and the Metis people are prepared for upcoming conflict with Sir John A. Macdonald and the Canadian government. She must also deal with conflicts with her husband, Gabriel Dumont, and Louis Riel, who is becoming increasingly unstable.
