Stardust

Stardust is the story of Tristran and his quest to retrieve a star from the land of Faerie. Along his journey, he learns that stars are human-like beings and, even though he intends to give his star to the girl he wants to marry, he cannot give up something he learns to love more. Others are also looking for the star for their own selfish endeavours, but only Tristran - who becomes selfless - wins her and the power she holds.
