Starflight

This science fiction novel about a dystopian future follows the journey of Solara, a young adult with a difficult past, in search of a better life on another planet. She is able to secure an airship passage and builds relationships with the characters on the ship. This novel would appeal in particular to those interested in books in the fantasy and science fiction genres. In the classroom, this novel can be used to further explore dystopian literature and science fiction. Additionally, students can have the chance to reflect on the meaning of family, and how we cannot always judge a person based on what is seen on the surface.
