Tilly: A Story of Hope and Resilience

Gray Smith, M.
Tilly is a young Canadian First Nations girl who grows up with the traditional teachings of her Lakota grandmother. When her grandmother dies when Tilly is 12 she is totally lost, and increasingly turns to alcohol to escape her insecurities and problems. One night, when she has drunk a dangerous amount, something happens that makes her realise she has to change. Summoning her courage, she begins the long journey back to finding pride in herself and the traditional ways of her heritage. The novel is loosely based on the author's own life.
