Transphobia: Deal with It and be a gender transcender

Skelton, W.
This Canadian resource, aimed at students in grades 4-7, focuses on transgender people and transphobia and helps readers understand gender identity and recognize and respond to transphobia. It includes examples of sexism, gender stereotypes, homophobia, and gender binary bias in a child-friendly format, similar in layout to a magazine. Each page is very colourful and stimulating and the information is presented in a variety of formats, including comic strips, hypothetical scenarios, fact boxes, question and answer, role-play, and do's & don'ts lists. Useful as a read-aloud, discussion starter, or student text to support topics of discrimination, equality, or SOGI.
