Uglies
This novel, set far in Earth’s future, is the first in a trilogy about a young girl named Tally. She is eagerly awaiting her 16th birthday – the date of the operation that is going to make her pretty. Tally lives in a world strictly divided between young people who are considered ugly and those who have come of age, have had "the operation," and are thus considered pretty.
