United We Stand

The novel opens the day after the 9/11 attacks. Fifteen-year-old Will and his father narrowly escaped the tragedy and are now safe at home with minor injuries. Will's best friend, James, is trying to come to terms with the death of his father, a fire fighter who is unaccounted for. Will and James spontaneously go to Ground Zero to look for James' father. However, because of the intensity of their journey and the courage of those around them, they both gain far more than ever anticipated.
