Water Changeling

Hall, H.
This authentic Indigenous resource shares First Peoples perspectives of the water cycle by telling the water cycle story from the Sylix perspective. It follows Sklp’lk’mitk as she progresses through various states such as water, dewdrop, cloud, rain, wind, hail, fog, and eventually snow to visit her grandparents so she can hear their stories. An engaging story for a primary classroom, it lends itself as part of a water cycle unit. Sklp’li’mitk’s determination and perseverance throughout the story may also serve as an example of these characteristics for students.
