Water For Elephants

Orphaned by the death of his parents in an accident, the protagonist abandons his studies at an ivy league school for the life of a hobo in Depression era America. He falls in with a travelling circus where his training as a veterinarian student gives him a job and the opportunity to observe and interact with a cast of extraordinary characters.
