Water Sings to Suli, The

Hall, H.
Suli meets a magical water child one day while playing outdoors, and the child teaches her the importance of water and the need to take care of it so that water can take care of people, animals, and the land. An authentic First Peoples text sharing a story about spirit, land, and water, this colourful story may encourage students to connect with and reflect on our collective responsibility to take care of the water and environment. Suitable as a read-aloud in a primary classroom, the story may inspire a unit on wonders and curiosity, also encouraging students to sit still and listen to the world around them.
