We are All Made of Molecules
Beautiful and popular Ashley’s life is turned upside down when her father reveals he is gay and her parents get divorced. Then, intelligent and nerdy Stewart and his dad move in with Ashley and her mom, and she worries that Stewart will threaten her popularity. In the end Stewart pulls together the various characters to create a new type of family. Humour is used in this grade 9-12 novel to address complex issues such as sexual orientation, blended families, and tolerance and acceptance. Told in alternating chapters by Stewart and Ashley, readers can see how the same events are interpreted by different characters.
