When the Angels Left the Old Country

Uriel and Little Ash, an angel and a demon, set off to find a missing girl who has gone to the United States. On their journey to find her, they encounter dangerous supernatural beings, murderers, and other obstacles that make navigating their journey difficult. Set in the nineteenth century, this story is based on Judaism’s beliefs and integrates English, Yiddish, Hebrew, and Aramaic words. It is a creative and unique story that lends itself well to an independent novel study in a senior secondary classroom.
