Whittington

The main story takes place in a barn and details the existence of a peaceful community of speaking animals. The animals also take on humanistic personas and often interact with the humans in the book. While the day to day events ground the book, the interest comes with the arrival of the title character, Whittington. A tough, street smart tomcat, Whittington, tells the tale of his namesake, Dick Whittington and his adventures in Europe during the time of the plague.
