Will I See?

Robertson, D.A.
Teenager May, while walking in the city, finds keepsakes related to the spirits of indigenous women who have died, and her grandmother helps her make a medicine bag to store the mementos. The fear and reality that many young aboriginal women face is made clear when May faces and survives an abductor, and learns there is strength in the spirits and herself. This impact of this Canadian graphic novel is heightened by the intensity of the illustrations, and it provides an opportunity for critical thinking and discussion around the topic of missing and murdered indigenous women.
