Women’s Rights

This 29 min. video depicts the struggle of women to attain basic civil liberties. It compares women's rights in the United States with the status of women in China, Afghanistan and Kenya. The modern practice of leg lengthening is looked at in comparison to foot binding; the Taliban's interpretation of Shariah and its effect on women. The video production quality is high;the material presented is well organized and makes effective use of powerful imagery.
