Woolf
Woolf is a mixture of a sheep and a wolf but is not accepted by either the sheep or the wolves unless he disguises himself to fit in. Woolf finds it very difficult and doesn’t like the pretense, but when his parents encourage him to be true to himself he is much relieved and finds his own friends and happiness. This bold, colourful picture book playfully presents concepts of discovering one’s identity and finding one’s place in the world, and could support discussion of diversity in the classroom, different cultures and family structures, and the importance of being true to oneself. Suitable as a read-aloud or for independent reading.
