Word Nerd

Ambrose never fits in at school, no matter where they live, and his mother doesn't understand why. When they move to Vancouver in grade seven, he tells her he has friends. When the "friends" place a peanut in Ambrose’s sandwich, sending him into anaphylactic shock, his mother removes him from school for home study. Socially awkward, and wearing purple cords that are too short, Ambrose tells one lie after another and cons the ex-con upstairs into taking him to Scrabble club.
