World Without You, A

Revis, B.
When Bo’s girlfriend commits suicide at their residential school for students with “supernatural powers”, Bo believes that she isn’t dead, that he has sent her back in time, and he tries to rescue her. The reality is that the school is really for students with mental illnesses and Bo is delusional. The school burns down and Bo moves to a different facility where he finally gets the help he needs and has to choose reality or his delusions. This engaging novel for grades 8-12 begins as a mystery/thriller, sensitively deals with family relationships, mental health, grief, and loss, and is suitable for literature circles, independent, and class novel studies.
