You Are Stardust

Kelsey, E.
This vividly illustrated picture book focuses on the connection between humans and nature. It presents the idea that every atom in our bodies came from a star that exploded long before we were born. We are complex and beautifully made—we are stardust. Suitable as a read-aloud for grades 1-6, the book explores identity, connectedness, and the wonderment of exploring the natural world. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations and be curious about themselves, the world, and their place in it. Although the author does not identify as Aboriginal, the book supports many Aboriginal worldviews and perspectives.
