Two

Otoshi, K.
Two is best friends with One until One begins to play with Three and as a result Two feels sad, jealous, and left out. The numerals divide into two groups – Evens and Odds – and they fight and taunt each other until Zero persuades Two to think more broadly, end the conflict with the Odds, and accept that Three can be friends with other people and still be friends with Two. This engaging picture book can be used as a read-aloud to help educators combine mathematical and social emotional learning and to explore friendship, jealousy, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and exclusion, and can also be used to explore mathematical concepts and relationships, and idiomatic language.
