Away

Urquhart, Jane
Away traverses the lives of a family over four generations. Mary and Patrick are a young Irish couple who escape the famine and political oppression of their homeland in the 1840s, immigrating to Canada to build a home in its wilderness. Throughout the novel, colourful characters pepper the rich landscapes, weaving a mystical, romantic narrative filled with both joy and sadness, triumph and tragedy.
