This is the story of a modern-day 15-year-old British girl named Tamar who searches for her roots, and the wartime experiences of her grandfather as an espionage agent in the Dutch Resistance movement in 1944. After the old man’s suicide, Tamar inherits a box of war memorabilia. The items send her to the Tamar river in England, seeking answers to the clues in the box. The story moves back and forth in time as Tamar and her Dutch cousin YoYo find a shocking truth that could alter their lives.
