The Digital Classroom Collection contains a set of quality digital reference resources that have been evaluated for their usefulness in supporting B.C. curriculum and instruction. Focused ED provides access to licensing of the bundled collection, and provides professional learning supports to educators on use of the resources.

What is the Digital Classroom Collection?

The Digital Classroom Collection contains a set of quality digital reference resources that have been evaluated for their usefulness in supporting B.C. curriculum and instruction. It is offered as a bundled license with a central point of access to bring a cost-effective solution to Focused Education members. School Districts and independent schools who subscribe to the Digital Classroom core collection have the option to license additional à la carte resources at special member pricing.

Resources for Teachers' Instructional Use

NFB Campus K-12 For Educators

The NFB access link allows teachers or students to see the educational licensed content at NFB. NFB Campus is specifically for teachers' instructional use. Teachers create their account at the site, in order to access instructional guides, mini-lessons, and videos that are not accessible in the regular education view.

NFB Media School - Note Age Considerations

NFB Media School is available to teachers with an NFB Campus login. They can enroll students into the online application. The resource is directed to ages 13 and up however a district/school with parental consent in place, may find this is suitable for Grades 6-12.

Media School is an introductory workshop on media production guided by filmmaker and mentor Paul Tom. Students will navigate through hundreds of videos and interactive activities related to the different stages of film production. They will acquire the tools to create their own digital stories, dynamic videos composed of photos, narration and music, using accessible equipment such as their smartphones and widely available software.

This storyboarding process is a great model for developing general research skills as well.


IDÉLLO French Immersion K-8

The resource is free to K-8 French Immersion teachers between July 2022- June 2025.  

IDÉLLO includes over 15,000 French language educational materials: videos, games, websites, applications, teaching tools. These are relevant and categorized according to subject matter and school grade. 

Teacher Access: IDÉLLO is available only to K-8 French Immersion teachers who are current members of Focused ED (all B.C. school districts).

The resource has been made available to Focused ED members “avec la participation du gouvernement du Canada et du Ministère de l’Éducation et des Services à la petite enfance de la Colombie-Britannique/with the participation of the Government of Canada and the Ministry of Education and Child Care of British Columbia”.


Live it Earth K-7 FR/EN

Free to members between July 2022 - June 2025. 

The Live It Earth bilingual suite focuses on place-based, hybrid learning experiences. It offers hours of cross-curricular programming, informed by Indigenous perspectives and supplemented by extensive instructional supports. It includes how-to videos, inquiry guides, slide shows and pro-d materials, and allows for the customization of presentation materials. The website search engine allows teachers to filter resources in relation to BC Curriculum. Eight new programs are added annually in French and English. 

Creating Teacher Accounts: 

  • Teachers need to enter an authentication code and district/school email address to set up an account. Subsequent logins will require district/school email address and your selected password.
  • Find the authentication code by signing in with your Focused ED member account.

Technical Implementation & Deployment

To create seamless and maintenance free integration of the Digital Classroom resources into your own school or district web page;

IP Updates: When your district closes or opens new school sites or changes any associated IP addresses or domains, your Implementation Spreadsheet must be revised so that service is not interrupted. Notify Focused Education of any of these changes, so we can maintain access: [email protected]
